Kevin Murray
I grew up on Long Island New York and moved to Florida in 1993. He loves to spend time with his family and enjoys playing golf with his friends.
He has an extensive background in manufacturing. He was a department head in many of his roles, where his focus was always on Quality Control. Training was his key to ensuring the machines were built to specs and ran properly. In the process of building the machines he was tasked with electrical wiring, refrigeration plumbing and operation and troubleshooting. By having an excellent attention to detail made him well suited for the quality control role. No machines went to the customer until he went over them and made sure every detail was checked. He uses the same attention to detail in every home inspection he does. He won’t leave an inspection until he runs through the entire inspection in his mind to ensure all details are covered.
Colleen Murray
Colleen grew up in Philadelphia Pennsylvania and moved to Florida in 1996 to be with her mother who was battling cancer. She is a fantastic cook and in complete Italian mother fashion always makes way too much food. Her love for her children is only 2nd to her love for her grandchildren. Colleen is the voice on the phone when anyone calls VEMA Home Inspections. Colleen was a retail pharmacy technician for 25 years. She spent those years working directly with customers helping them navigate through insurance problems and keeping their medications up to date. Her strong phone skills makes her the perfect person to help get your inspections scheduled and relieve a little stress off the home buying experience.
Why we started VEMA Home Inspections, a family business
We started so we can treat our clients the way we want service companies to treat us. We believe in the way business was run when we were kids. The customer is priority. The client is the most important person in the transaction. I hear a lot of people complaining that service companies never call them back, that they need to call 5-8 different companies 4 or 5 times before they get someone on the phone. Then the next hurdle they jump is getting the company to show up for a quote or to do the job. We will always answer the phone and in the chance that we are on another call or doing an inspection our goal is to return that call within the hour. You will never wait days for us to call you back. The stress of buying a house
Buying a house is a very stressful time in anyone's life. A house can be a financial hardship if the wrong house is purchased. Our first step in the transaction is to help ease the clients stress on the phone while scheduling their home inspection. We will help the client chose the needed inspections and schedule the inspection at time that fits their timeline. We will invite the client to join us at the inspection so we can review any problems that were uncovered. I will usually suggest they go grab some food and I will call them about 30 minutes before I finished with the inspection and wait for them to return. I will then explain to them in the most non-bias way possible what I found during the inspections. I will explain the defects in a way not to sound as if the defects are going to cause the house to collapse on their family but I will not speak to lightly of them either.
We will NEVER scare the client into thinking they are making a bad decision.
Maintaining a list of trusted companies
We keep a list of trusted companies to refer to the homeowner. From HVAC and plumbing to lawyers and insurance agents who can write property insurance as well as health and life insurance. All these companies I would use myself and refer to friends and family.
I hope this gave a little insight on who we are and what we believe in. Thank you for taking the time to look through this materiel and I hope we can build a lasting friendship together.
